Street art is one of the most powerful forms of contemporary art Today
Street art is emerging in cities all around the world as a force that brings communities together and revitalizes neighborhoods. Murals completely change a place, making landmarks that people want to see and talk about. Our team is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and we have installed many street art installations in our city that have become well-known destinations.
In August of 2019, Wallpapered City helped to coordinate the installation of “The Unsung Hero,” a mural by German artist Case Ma’Claim, in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. This six-story monumental piece instantly made news in the city for its sheer size, and also for its provocative framing of a woman’s torso.
Wallpapered City is a curatorial and consulting group, and we put together some of the dopest mural sites you’ve ever seen. To have a look through images of the work we’ve done — such as Milwaukee’s Black Cat Alley, or the Bay View Street Canvas — click here. We’d love to show you what we’ve been up to.
We can do tours on foot or by bicycle!
The Black Cat Alley is an outdoor art gallery located in a private alley on the East Side. This unique street art destination was developed by a group of community members and artists back in 2015-2016 in partnership with Wallpapered City LLC, and sponsored by the East Side BID. It now contains 22 murals by 25 artists from Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Columbus and even Madrid. For more info, visit blackcatMKE.com
